West Midlands Trains successful delay repay scheme

In December 2017, West Midlands Trains set up a delay repay scheme that allows passengers to donate their delay repay claims to a chosen charity.

Samaritans were the first chosen charity and at the end of 2018, London Northwestern and West Midlands Railway passengers, donated over £7,000 of delay repay claims, to support lifesaving work across the rail network.

Since then a further £11,800 has also been raised, resulting in a total of £18,800 being donated to Samaritans over the course of the scheme.

The partnership with Samaritans is due to end in the next coming weeks as the new partnership, chosen by colleagues at West Midlands Trains, begins with Alzheimer’s Society, which will look to making rail travel more accessible for those with dementia.
