Reporting interventions

The rail industry has a database that uses combined British Transport Police, Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) and Samaritans data to understand where interventions are occurring. This knowledge allows resources to be targeted appropriately to prevent suicides. The industry is keen to ensure that as many interventions as possible are captured, to help improve the accuracy of that database and ensure that staff are acknowledged for their involvement in potentially saving a life. The Rail Industry Stakeholder Group (RISSG) has created this document to inform rail staff of how to report interventions.
