Suicide is preventable and lives are being saved every day. For every life lost on the railway, six are saved.

Suicide represents a tragic loss of life. We recognise the part we have to play in preventing these events on behalf of our staff, customers and those most at risk of suicide in our society.

In partnership with the rail industry, Samaritans and British Transport Police our suicide prevention programme aims to reduce suicide on the railway. We work closely with other suicide prevention experts, national agencies and charities such as Public Health England and the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA) to develop and maximise its impact.

Collaborate with us

If you are an academic or have a verifiable interest in the suicide prevention work the rail industry is undertaking and you wish to contribute or would like to learn more please contact us.

We are always looking for new solutions and ways to prevent suicide on the railway and are open to collaborations.
