Southeastern have launched a brand-new reward and recognition scheme for staff that make life saving interventions.
Trespass and Suicide Reduction Manager Collette Windsor said “Every day across our network, colleagues do amazing things to support the communities we serve. Sometimes, extraordinary circumstances mean our people are in a position to save someone’s life. This could be the result of a medical emergency, serious crime, or a vulnerable person with suicidal thoughts.
The Lifesaver Award is there to recognise and celebrate our quick-thinking, kind, and brave colleagues who play a significant role in saving someone’s life. It is thought most of these awards will be made up of staff that have intervened with a suicidal individual.”
Southeastern’s Safeguarding team monitor staff “Eyewitness” reports from the ground and get in contact with any eligible colleagues to offer them the award, which includes recognition on our extra mile applause wall, a personalised certificate, a bespoke pin badge and a Extra Mile voucher.
