On 10th October each year, World Mental Health Day (WMHD) is celebrated to raise awareness of mental health issues and advocate against the social stigma.
The day provides an opportunity for the industry to recognise mental health issues and the theme, chosen by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH), this year’s was “Suicide Prevention” in an effort to get the world talking and address the global issue.
The industry marked WMHD in various ways, including over 70 Samaritans branches across Great Britain that visited stations on or around the 10 October to promote the ‘Real People, Real Stories’ campaign.
