Now more than ever, it is important to raise awareness of mental health, reducing stigma and promoting available help and support to our passengers and customers. Network Rail’s North West & Central Suicide Prevention Co-ordinator was made aware of a new 24/7 Mental Health crisis number provision for the Coventry and Warwickshire area through the rail industry partnership with the Coventry and Warwickshire Suicide Prevention Group and wanted to advertise this at railway stations.
The NHS Partnership Trust were asked if they could commission a redesign of their Facebook and Twitter poster to suit the rail industry so that it could be displayed and promoted at stations across the county. The wording was jointly agreed between Network Rail and Avanti West Coast, with the design and installation plan then approved by the NHS Partnership Trust, and the Suicide Prevention Leads at Chiltern Railways, West Midlands Trains and Avanti West Coast, Station Managers and property/estate teams. Network Rail funded the production of A3 Foamex posters and fitment took place over 2 days on 26 August and 16 September.
In total, 31 posters have been displayed at 11 stations operated by, Avanti West Coast, West Midlands Trains and Chiltern Railways.
