We are pleased to announce that the industry’s partnership with Samaritans has been shortlisted at the Business Charity Awards.

The Business Charity Awards recognise the outstanding work and contributions made by businesses in the United Kingdom to good causes and this year, Network Rail and Samaritans partnership has been shortlisted for Long-Term Partnership 2020.

Since 2010 Network Rail on behalf of the Rail Industry has been in partnership with Samaritans with the aim to reduce suicides on the rail network in Great Britain.

The partnership has been pioneering for the industry and together more than 20,000 staff have been trained in suicide prevention techniques, as well as increasing the number of interventions made in suicide attempts year on year.

Unfortunately, due to the current ongoing Covid-19 situation, the organisers have decided to cancel this year’s event, but will be announcing the winners over the coming weeks.
